Debate on the EU’s vaccination strategy with Ursula von der Leyen
In a debate with Commission President von der Leyen from 9.00, MEPs are expected to reiterate their support for a united EU approach to COVID-19 vaccines. They are also likely to raise concerns regarding delays in vaccine deliveries, contracts and data transparency, as well as the recently launched system to authorise exports of COVID-19 vaccines.

Scrutiny of social media/Fundamental rights
At 15.00, MEPs will discuss the link between new media, politics and freedom of speech. They are due to consider how to avoid the pitfalls created by the digitalisation of politics, namely the need to defend democracy from disinformation and efforts to subvert it or incite violence, without compromising freedom of speech or technological innovation in political discourse.

In brief:
Women’s rights. As the pandemic exacerbates gender inequalities, MEPs will evaluate the progress made in women’s rights over the past 25 years and the challenges ahead. A resolution will be put to the vote on Thursday.
COVID-19 recovery. Parliament will discuss and vote on provisions that help EU companies to access a diverse range of funding and support the post-COVID-19 recovery. The result of the vote will be announced tomorrow morning at 9.00.
Votes
The results of Tuesday’s votes will be announced at 9.00 on, among other things:
- Establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility
- Human trafficking
- Reducing inequalities with a special focus on in-work poverty
- The impact of COVID-19 on youth and on sport
- New Circular Economy Action Plan
- European Central Bank – annual report 2019
- Public access to documents for the years 2016-2018.
The first voting session, in which MEPs will vote on amendments to different reports and resolutions will take place between 13.00 and 14.15. Results will be announced at 19.00.
The second voting session lasts from 20.00 to 21.15, with results announced on Thursday morning at 9.00.
MEPs will cast final votes on:
- Extending COVID-19 relief measures for transport (slots, certificates, licences)
- Implementation of the EU Association Agreement with Ukraine
- European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience
- Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and Prospectus Regulation.
