COVID-19 certificate

Parliament, Council and Commission negotiators will meet again to try to conclude an agreement on the proposal for an EU Covid-19 certificate. In order to facilitate traveling during the pandemic, and ahead of the summer period, the certificate would prove a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, has a negative test result or has recovered from the virus.

Protection of EU citizens’ data: assessment of US and UK rules


Data protection in the UK and US and the future of data transfers to these countries will be the focus of a plenary debate with Council and Commission starting at 9.00. MEPs will then vote on two resolutions, with the final results announced on Thursday (“Schrems II”) and Friday (UK adequacy decision).

MEPs will assess the situation of prisoners of war in the aftermath of the recent conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the latest developments in Haiti and Chad. Plenary will adopt resolutions following the conclusion of these discussions.

Impact of the recent spring frost on fruit and wine growers. In an afternoon debate, MEPs will quiz the Commission about measures it intends to take to help farmers deal with current crop losses as a result of recent cold weather. They will also debate ways to improve the effectiveness of the existing risk-management toolbox and the adaptation of crops to climate change for the future.


Vote results from Wednesday’s second voting session will be announced at 9.00, on:

  • measures to ensure protection of labour rights and freedom of movement within the EU,
  • reversing demographic trends in EU regions using cohesion policy instruments and

There will be two voting sessions, from 9.45 to 11.00 (with results announced at 13.00) and from 13.45 to 15.00 (results announced at 16.30).


MEPs will first vote on amendments to various resolutions and reports. During the second voting session, they will cast their final vote, among other things, on:

  • Chinese countersanctions on EU entities and MEPs and MPs,
  • the EP’s right of access to information regarding the ongoing assessment of national recovery and resilience plans
  • environmental liability of companies,
  • new avenues for legal labour migration
  • human rights and democracy in Armenia-Azerbaijan, Haiti and Chad,
  • the “Schrems II” ruling by the European Court of Justice, and
  • on amendments to the adequate protection of personal data by the United Kingdom (final vote on Friday at 9.45, result 13.00)

    Parliament, Council and Commission negotiators will meet again to try to conclude an agreement on the proposal for an EU Covid-19 certificate. In order to facilitate traveling during the pandemic, and ahead of the summer period, the certificate would prove a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, has a negative test result or has recovered from the virus.

    Data protection in the UK and US and the future of data transfers to these countries will be the focus of a plenary debate with Council and Commission starting at 9.00. MEPs will then vote on two resolutions, with the final results announced on Thursday (“Schrems II”) and Friday (UK adequacy decision).
