A greener, fairer and more transparent Common Agriculture Policy

Following a debate at 9.00 with Commissioner Wojciechowski, Parliament is set to give its final green light to the reform of the EU’s Farm Policy. The review aims to align the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) with the EU’s environmental and climate commitments. The results of the vote will be announced at 16.00, and the Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and the rapporteurs will hold a press conference at 17.15.

Debate with Michel and von der Leyen on the outcome of October’s summit

In a debate at 15.00, MEPs will assess with Presidents Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen the results of the 21-22 October EU summit. The response to the COVID-19 crisis, energy prices, rule of law, migration and external relations were the main topics dealt with by leaders at the summit.

Situation in Belarus and at its EU borders

The security and humanitarian consequences of the Belarusian strategy to push migrants in Belarus into the EU will be the focus of a discussion with Commission Vice-President Schinas and the Slovenian Presidency starting around 16.00.

2022 EU budget

Plenary will assess with Commissioner Hahn and the Slovenian Presidency the deal between Parliament and Council negotiators on next year’s EU budget, the main priorities of which will be post-COVID-19 recovery, health policy, supporting the young and climate action.

In brief:

Legal labour migration to the EU. MEPs will discuss with Commission Vice-President Schinas measures to make it easier for third-country nationals to come to the EU for work, in order to help address Europe’s demographic challenges and labour market needs.


Situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The increasing political tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be assessed with Commission Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis and the Slovenian Presidency. MEPs are expected to express strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Police violence against Romani people. MEPs will look into recurring reports of excessive force, police brutality and misconduct against Romani people in a debate with Commissioner Dalli and the Slovenian Presidency.


Votes


There will be a remote voting session, between 12.00 and 13.15, with results announced at 16.00.


MEPs will cast final votes on the three legislative texts of the CAP reform, as well as the non-legislative resolution on EU sports policy.


They will also vote on amendments to the reports on the European strategy for critical raw materials and the pharmaceutical strategy for Europe.

    Legal labour migration to the EU. MEPs will discuss with Commission Vice-President Schinas measures to make it easier for third-country nationals to come to the EU for work, in order to help address Europe’s demographic challenges and labour market needs.


    Situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The increasing political tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be assessed with Commission Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis and the Slovenian Presidency. MEPs are expected to express strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.

    Police violence against Romani people. MEPs will look into recurring reports of excessive force, police brutality and misconduct against Romani people in a debate with Commissioner Dalli and the Slovenian Presidency.

    There will be a remote voting session, between 12.00 and 13.15, with results announced at 16.00.


    MEPs will cast final votes on the three legislative texts of the CAP reform, as well as the non-legislative resolution on EU sports policy.


    They will also vote on amendments to the reports on the European strategy for critical raw materials and the pharmaceutical strategy for Europe.
