Eradicating violence against women

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Dalli the lack of progress made in ratifying the Istanbul Convention and ways to protect women. To mark the occasion, Parliament’s building in Brussels will be lit up in orange, in the framework of the ‘Orange the World’ initiative.

Minimum wage directive: plenary to vote on negotiating mandate

MEPs will vote at 9.30 (results announced 13.00) on whether or not to give the green light to start negotiations with the Council on the draft directive on minimum wages, which aims to ensure a minimum level of wage protection in each member state.

Human rights debates and resolutions

Plenary will hold urgent debates, and vote on resolutions, on human rights, democracy and rule of law topics concerning Somalia, the private military security Wagner group and Cameroon.

There will be two voting sessions. The first one will take place from 9.30 to 10.45, with results announced at 13.00. MEPs will cast their final vote on reports on:

  • legal migration;
  • EU aid to workers dismissed from the metal sector in Spain;
  • introducing a European Social Security, and
  • the safety of truck parking lots in the EU.

They will also vote on amendments to the resolutions on human rights. The final vote on these resolutions will be held in the second and last voting session (between 13.30 and 14.45, with results announced at 16.00).

    Eradicating violence against women

    On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Dalli the lack of progress made in ratifying the Istanbul Convention and ways to protect women. To mark the occasion, Parliament’s building in Brussels will be lit up in orange, in the framework of the ‘Orange the World’ initiative.

    Minimum wage directive: plenary to vote on negotiating mandate

    MEPs will vote at 9.30 (results announced 13.00) on whether or not to give the green light to start negotiations with the Council on the draft directive on minimum wages, which aims to ensure a minimum level of wage protection in each member state.

    Plenary will hold urgent debates, and vote on resolutions, on human rights, democracy and rule of law topics concerning Somalia, the private military security Wagner group and Cameroon.

    There will be two voting sessions. The first one will take place from 9.30 to 10.45, with results announced at 13.00. MEPs will cast their final vote on reports on:

    • legal migration;
    • EU aid to workers dismissed from the metal sector in Spain;
    • introducing a European Social Security, and
    • the safety of truck parking lots in the EU.

    They will also vote on amendments to the resolutions on human rights. The final vote on these resolutions will be held in the second and last voting session (between 13.30 and 14.45, with results announced at 16.00).
