Head of Cabinet of President von der Leyen in talks with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman

In light of recent developments affecting European security, Head of the Cabinet of the President of the European Commission Bjoern Seibert met with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in Brussels on Wednesday.

 

They discussed the current situation at the borders of Ukraine with Russia, Moscow's attempts to redefine the security architecture in Europe as well as related diplomatic efforts and intense coordination among transatlantic partners on this issue.

 

B. Seibert and W. Sherman recalled the firm support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity and underlined the determination to continue the coordinated and united approach of transatlantic partners to Russia's actions against Ukraine.

 

The Head of Cabinet Bjoern Seibert and Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman underlined that any further military aggression against Ukraine will have massive consequences and severe cost.
