Hungary and EU values: press conference on Wednesday at 15:30 CEST
On Wednesday, after the debate on the draft report declaring Hungary an “electoral autocracy”, key MEPs will brief journalists - in Strasbourg and remotely.
The draft text (on which MEPs will vote on Thursday) declares that Hungary can no longer be considered a full democracy, as democracy and fundamental rights in the country have deteriorated further since Parliament triggered the Article 7 procedure in 2018.
When: Wednesday 14 September 2022, 15:30 - 16:00 CEST
Where: Daphne Caruana Galizia room (WEISS N -1/201), European Parliament in Strasbourg
Who: Rapporteur Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield (Greens/EFA, FR) and shadow rapporteurs Isabel Wiseler-Lima (EPP, LU), Bettina Vollath (S&D, AT), Ramona Strugariu (Renew, RO) and Malin Björk (The Left, SE).
How: Accredited media representatives can attend the press conference physically. Journalists wishing to ask questions remotely need to connect via Interactio (https://ep.interactio.eu/66e2-hy1p-1w4u).
