Debate on suspicions of corruption
From around 16.30, MEPs will discuss the allegations involving certain MEPs and the broader need for transparency and accountability in the European institutions. President Metsola’s statement on Monday can be found here. The debate will be followed by a resolution to be voted on Thursday.

Faster deployment of renewables
From 9.00, MEPs will debate with Executive Vice-President Timmermans a new law to accelerate the granting of permits for new renewable energy power plants, such as solar panels or windmills. The vote will take place on Wednesday.

“This is Europe” debate with Slovenian Prime Minister Golob
MEPs will discuss the EU’s future prospects with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob at 10.30. One round of speeches by political group leaders will follow the Prime Minister’s address. A press point by EP President Metsola and Prime Minister Golob is scheduled for 10.20.

In brief
EU strategic infrastructure/China. MEPs will discuss how to protect the EU’s strategic infrastructure from Chinese influence during a Question Time session with the Commission at 15.00.
Schengen. From around 18.00, Parliament will debate the decision by the Council to not extend the travel-free Schengen area to Romania and Bulgaria.
Child Guarantee. MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Schmitt and Vladimír Balaš, Czech Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, from around 14.00, the need for a dedicated budget to turn the Child Guarantee into reality, in times of energy and food crises.
Israel and Palestine. In the early evening, MEPs will assess the prospects of a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine in a debate with Commissioner Lenarčič.
Votes
Between 12.00 and 13.00, MEPs will vote, among other things, on
- whether to apply the urgent procedure for the 'Macro-Financial Assistance+' instrument for providing support to Ukraine for 2023 (if adopted the vote will take place on Thursday);
- equal rights for persons with disabilities;
- an action plan to boost long-distance and cross-border passenger rail; and
- on a long-term vision for the EU's rural areas.
