EU strategic infrastructure/China. MEPs will discuss how to protect the EU’s strategic infrastructure from Chinese influence during a Question Time session with the Commission at 15.00.

Schengen. From around 18.00, Parliament will debate the decision by the Council to not extend the travel-free Schengen area to Romania and Bulgaria.

Child Guarantee. MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Schmitt and Vladimír Balaš, Czech Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, from around 14.00, the need for a dedicated budget to turn the Child Guarantee into reality, in times of energy and food crises.

Israel and Palestine. In the early evening, MEPs will assess the prospects of a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine in a debate with Commissioner Lenarčič.


Votes

Between 12.00 and 13.00, MEPs will vote, among other things, on

  • whether to apply the urgent procedure for the 'Macro-Financial Assistance+' instrument for providing support to Ukraine for 2023 (if adopted the vote will take place on Thursday);
  • equal rights for persons with disabilities;
  • an action plan to boost long-distance and cross-border passenger rail; and
  • on a long-term vision for the EU's rural areas.
