Prosecution of Russian war criminals and EU’s response after Dnipro attack

Starting around 19.00, plenary will discuss the EU’s response to last weekend’s missile attack on civilians in Dnipro and the possibility of imposing additional sanctions on Putin’s regime. Immediately after this debate, MEPs will quiz Commissioner Reynders on the prospects of establishing a tribunal to prosecute Russia for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Plenary will vote on a resolution on Thursday.

Corruption and foreign interference in EU institutions: plenary debate

MEPs will discuss with the Commission the latest allegations of corruption and foreign interference, including those related to Morocco, and the need to increase transparency, integrity and accountability in the European institutions, in a debate starting around 16.00.

In brief:

Spiking food prices and support to farmers and consumers. MEPs will quiz Commissioner Wojciechowski about food price inflation in Europe during Question Time, at 15.00. They are likely to ask for EU aid to help producers and consumers cope.

Protecting gamers and promoting the EU videogame industry. At 13.00, plenary will discuss how to protect gamers, especially children, from addiction and manipulative practices. A draft resolution on which MEPs will vote on Wednesday also demands measures to encourage growth in Europe’s innovative video games sector.

Between 12.00 and 13.00, plenary will vote on:

  • new rules on shipments of waste;
  • a revision of the EP’s Rules of Procedure regarding MEPs’ immunities;
  • a legislative reform to prevent the misuse of shell entities for tax purposes;
  • an agreement with New Zealand on exchange of data with Europol;
  • a protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime, and
  • the creation of a European Capital of Local Trade.
